Jaques Morcos, MD, FRCS, FAANS is the Professor and Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery at the UTHealth McGovern School of Medicine in Houston, TX. He is a world-renowned neurosurgeon specializing in cerebrovascular and skull-based surgery. He completed his residency at the University of Minnesota, followed by a fellowships in cerebrovascular surgery at the University of Florida and cerebrovascular and skull-based surgery at Barrow Neurological Institute. Dr. Morcos' research includes observational studies in anuerysm surveillance, an AVM registry, the impact of targeted therapies in NF2 acoustic neuromas, and laboratory dissections to optimze and innovate neurosurgical approaches. He is the co-founder of the International Registry of MCA Bypass in Cerebral Ischemia. He is active in national and international neurosurgical societies. He is the Immediate Past-President of the AANS and the President of the World Federation of Skull Based Societies.
